Forty million voices, kept.
Solace Technologies, Inc. — Seattle, WA — June 30, 2030
Sometime late Friday evening — between a grandmother in Tucson finishing the card-game story and a father in Duluth starting the canoe one — the fortieth-millionth Continuance came into service.
Eleven thousand families now begin every day. In the Listening Room beneath the company's Seattle headquarters, where every Continuance is a point of light arranged by kinship of pattern, engineers watched the map brighten and did what Solace employees do at milestones: nothing. The room stayed quiet. The lights kept arriving.
"Forty million is not a number I celebrate. It's a number I answer for. Every light in that room is a promise with a family attached, and the promise doesn't scale — it multiplies. We will keep every single one." — Katherine Voss, founder and chief executive officer, Solace

Keeping at scale
The milestone is, above all, an operations story. The company's Umatilla County archival campus — cooled by the Columbia, staffed around the clock — now safeguards the largest collection of family voice archives ever assembled, with every record held under the company's certified-erasure commitments: kept when a family wants it kept, gone when a family wants it gone.
"People imagine the campus as servers," said Sam Reyter, VP, Archival Operations, who has led the desert facility for six years. "I ask them to imagine it as a library where every book is somebody's mother. You would keep that building cool, too. You would check the locks twice, too."
The milestone arrives alongside continued growth in the company's clinical legacy programs, now spanning more than ninety health systems, and ahead of this fall's introduction of Pre‑Need Services.
They're not new people, the company is fond of saying. They're the same people, kept.
