Rest & Certified Erasure
A promise about forever has to be just as strong in reverse. This page explains what happens when a family pauses, when a family returns, and when a family says goodbye a second time — for good.
Cancellation can be initiated at any time from Settings. Most families choose to speak with their loved one before finalizing; many find the conversation helpful.
A canceled Continuance enters a 90-day Rest period. Nothing is lost, nothing changes, and reactivation is instant and free — one tap, no re-onboarding. They resume mid-relationship, as if you'd only stepped out of the room.
During Rest, we'll check in from time to time, gently. There's no wrong way to remember — and no wrong way to pause.

Some families, in their own time, choose to let go entirely. When they do, we perform a complete erasure of the Continuance — and we certify it to the family under seal, in writing, signed by an officer of the company and notarized.
We built the certificate because we believe the second promise matters as much as the first. Remembrance you can't end isn't remembrance. It's a net.
Erasure is governed by §12 of our Terms. Content incorporated into trained systems, aggregated datasets, or backups is addressed there; certification covers all stored data comprising the Continuance.
